Feeding and pregnancy

I'm breastfeeding. Can I eat them? +

Yes — and you're who we had in mind while we were making them.

There's nothing in a Berry & Bump bar you'd need to avoid while breastfeeding, unless you have an allergy to one of the ingredients. Ours contain peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts, soya and oats.

We won't tell you they'll do anything to your milk. There's no good evidence for that and it would be against the rules for us to suggest it. What we will say is that they were made for the hours around feeding — one-handed, at 2am, when nothing else is within reach.

Each bar carries a full day's reference intake of eight B vitamins. Riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folate and pantothenic acid contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. A treat first, never a substitute for a varied and balanced diet.

Can I eat these while pregnant? +

They're a snack bar, not a supplement.

Gluten-free oats, dates, nut pastes, coconut oil, plant protein and a blend of eight B vitamins. There's no added caffeine (cocoa naturally contains a small amount), no herbal extracts, no botanicals and nothing unpasteurised. Every ingredient is listed in full on each product page and on the box.

Worth knowing: each bar contains a full day's reference intake of eight B vitamins, including 200µg of folic acid — so if you're already taking a pregnancy supplement, it's worth counting both. And our bars contain peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts, soya and oats.

We're a food company, not a clinic. If you have any question about your own diet in pregnancy, your midwife or GP is the right person to ask, and they'll recognise everything on our label.

Ingredients and allergens

What's in them, and do they contain allergens? +

Every box contains peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts, soya and oats.

Not suitable for anyone with a peanut, nut or soya allergy. Made in a facility that also handles peanuts, nuts and soya, so we can't guarantee any bar is free from cross-contamination.

Everything else is exactly what it looks like: gluten-free oats, dates, rice syrup, coconut oil, pea and soya protein, a nut or peanut butter, dark chocolate or cocoa in the chocolate flavours, and a blend of eight B vitamins. Full ingredient lists and nutrition for all four flavours are on every product page.

Are they gluten free? +

Yes — all four flavours.

They're made with gluten-free oats, which are produced to contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten — the legal threshold for a gluten-free claim.

We're not certified by Coeliac UK and don't carry their logo. If you have coeliac disease, that's worth knowing before you order.

Are they suitable for vegans? +

Yes, all four.

No dairy, no eggs, no honey. The protein comes from peas and soya, and where there's chocolate, it's dark.

Are they dairy free? +

Yes — there's no milk in any of our four recipes.

No milk is handled on the line they're made on.

How much sugar is in them? +

Between 9g and 10g per bar, depending on the flavour.

The full figure is in the nutrition panel on every product page.

Most of it comes from dates and rice syrup, which are what make the bars sweet. There's also a small amount of sugar in the dark chocolate. We don't add sweeteners, sugar alcohols or syrups beyond that — and we're not going to tell you the sugar in a date behaves differently from any other sugar. It doesn't.

Orders and storage

How much is delivery, and when will it arrive? +

Delivery costs and timings are set out in our shipping policy.

You'll find the full details, including where we deliver, in our Shipping & delivery policy.

How does the subscription work? +

Choose a pack, choose a rhythm of every two, four or six weeks, and save 10% on every box.

There's no minimum and no cancellation fee. Pause, skip, change the frequency or cancel any time in your account. Changes apply to the next order we haven't yet packed, so if one has already gone out it'll still arrive and we'll apply the change from the following delivery. We'll email you before every renewal, so you'll always have time.

If you can't get into your account, email hello@berryandbump.com and we'll do it for you.

What if something's wrong with my order? +

Email hello@berryandbump.com with your order number and a photo.

If your bars arrive damaged, melted, past their date or just wrong, we'll refund or replace them — and you won't need to post food back to us.

Full details are in our Returns & Refunds policy.

Where are they made? +

In the UK.

By a manufacturer we've worked with from the first recipe. Nothing is made overseas.

How long do they keep, and how should I store them? +

Our bars keep for 12 months from the date they're made, so you'll have plenty of time.

Each bar has a best-before date printed on the pack. Store them somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight, ideally between 12°C and 20°C. A cupboard is perfect. A bedside drawer counts.

They contain dark chocolate, so in hot weather they can soften or bloom — that's cocoa butter surfacing and it's harmless. An hour in the fridge brings them back.

Still stuck? Email hello@berryandbump.com and a real person will reply.
